If you are seeing an error message that says “Video file cannot be played. An error occurred while loading the file. The file is definitely not ready” it is a good idea to check your settings in order to see whether this is indeed the case. It may not always be able to open the video file on your web page but there are other ways to find out why this happened. There are some common errors that you should know about and how to fix them so that your web page will be functional again.
When your YouTube application is opened, you will usually see an error message saying “Sorry, you cannot open this file because it’s incompatible with your computer. The file you wanted to view is either corrupt or has no decent video. We suggest that you should upgrade your software or restart your system.”
This error message can often occur when there are serious problems with the video files. For example, if you have visited a video site like YouTube and are seeing a blank or black video page, then it is most likely the case of an incorrect video file. There is also the possibility that the web page may have been corrupted. If you see any error messages for reasons like these, then it is best to follow the steps above in order to have a fully functional, streaming video page on your web page.
Before attempting any fixing procedure, it is highly recommended that you try the first step first. It is possible that the problem is related to the Adobe Acrobat Reader version that you have on your machine. This program is required to open and view many PDF files. It is possible that the file could be damaged, forcing you to use a different method to get it running again.
You can right click on the file, which is usually blue, and choose properties. Under the General tab, look for the Software Version and then compare it to the current version on your system. If you see an older version, then you will have to replace it with the current one. Alternatively, if you can’t find it, you can go into the folder and then see if you can find the file using a search engine like Google or Yahoo. Sometimes, installing a new antivirus program will help as well.
If you do not have this file, then you will have to first remove all the programs or software that are trying to load before you can get onto the page. One of the most common methods is to remove the cookies from your browser. To do this, go to the settings and then click on the “Cookies” tab. Then choose “Remove”. Note: This does not affect saved passwords, and if you have one you will still have to clear them before you can go ahead with removing the cookies.
If this doesn’t work, then you will have to use a different method. You can use the “Paste” function at the top of the page, or simply type “paste” into the web address bar. Either way, try to open the file in the file browser you are in. You should see a blank page appear and give you a choice to save it or not. If you want to save it, just hit “Yes”, otherwise just save it normally as you would any other file. If your problem persists, then it’s likely that you are dealing with a corrupted video file.
The next option you have is to use YouTube itself to get rid of the error. Go to “Help” and then click on “YouTube Video Manager”. This will basically let you delete any files that are currently on your computer. However, if you have found this problem on an external file, such as a flash drive, then you will have to transfer it manually. This is generally quite easy to do, and there are plenty of YouTube tutorials available which should help.
